My screen stays black and there’s no image after connecting. What should I do?

Check if the motherboard indicator light is on. Make sure both ends of the connection cable are properly connected. Check if your laptop delivers enough power to support the Screenmate.

The screen is unstable, flickers or occasionally cuts out. What could be the cause?

Check if the laptop delivers enough power. If necessary, connect an external power supply, such as a USB-C laptop charger, DC 5V/3A adapter or PD charger.

My laptop doesn’t have a USB-C port. How can I still use the Screenmate?

Use the dual USB-A to USB-C cable: Connect the black USB-A plug to a USB-A port on the laptop (for data). Connect the red USB-A plug to another USB-A port (for power). Does your laptop only have one USB-A port? Connect the black USB-A plug to the laptop. Connect the red USB-A plug to a charger or external power source (e.g., DC 5V/3A or PD charger). Then connect the USB-C end of the cable to the Screenmate.

A startup logo appears, but there’s no image on my MacBook. What should I do?

Check if the driver icon is visible in the menu bar at the top right of your Mac. Don’t see the icon? Go to your Mac’s launchpad, find the driver and start it manually.

Can the Screenmate charge my laptop when connected to a power source?

This is possible, provided the following conditions are met: Your laptop’s USB-C port supports Power Delivery (PD). The connection is made with a USB-C cable. The power supply is PD-compatible. Connection method: Connect your laptop’s full-function USB-C port to the Screenmate via a USB-C cable. Connect your laptop charger to the Power USB-C port of the Screenmate to enable reverse charging and automatically improve screen brightness. Does your laptop charger not have a USB-C output? Then use a PD charger of at least 45W.
